Description

This early 19th century former storehouse has undergone some alterations and features three storeys and seven bays in a symmetrical rectangular plan. The building is constructed of random rubble and has three segmental-arched cart entrances at ground level, with forestairs leading to the outer left and right entrances on the first floor.

On the principal elevation, there are two-leaf boarded doors at the central cart arch on the ground floor, with a window above on each floor. Flanking the central bay, there are two-leaf boarded doors at slightly smaller cart arches, with large windows above on each floor. The penultimate bays on the right and left also have windows on each floor. The outer left and right bays have forestairs leading to boarded doors on the first floor, with a window above on the second floor.

The south elevation, facing Queen Street, is two bays wide with a window on the first and second floors in the left bay, and a window on the second floor in the right bay, topped with a gablehead stack. The north elevation is also two bays wide, featuring a window on the first and second floors in the right bay, and a window on the second floor in the left bay, again with a gablehead stack above.

The windows are timber-framed and have various numbers of panes. The roof is covered with grey slate and has a stone ridge, while the gablehead stacks are made of rubble with cornicing. The building has uPVC rainwater goods. The interior was not seen during the last inspection in 1998.
