Description

Later 19th century. 2-storey and attic, 4-bay, asymmetrical, rectangular-plan terraced tenement with shops at ground. Yellow ashlar sandstone. Bipartite windows, cavetto moulded string course between floors, stone bracketted scalloped eaves course.

SW (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: modern shop front to ground. Irregular fenestration to 1st floor with single harrow windows to left of centre, remainder bipartite with stop-chamfered surrounds, moulded cills, canted gabled dormer with overhanging eaves to left,.

NE (REAR) ELEVATION: random sandstone rubble, irregular fenestration, twin square-plan stair towers with doors to returns.

NW (SIDE) ELEVATION: adjoining building.

SE (SIDE) ELEVATION: adjoining building.

4-pane timber sash and case windows, modern glazing to far right and dormer, grey slates, lead ridges, coped, sandstone gable stacks, cast-iron rainwater goods.

INTERIOR: modern shop fittings, residential storey not seen 2000.
