Description
Early/mid 19th century. Former corn mill, with internal
wheel. 2 storeys; T-plan; built against steep bank at
south east where lade enters building at upper level.
Rubble-built, with ashlar margins. North elevation: 4
irregular bays, doors at both levels right bay, single
small-paned windows to remaining bays, segmental-arched
opening at low level of left bay is tailrace from wheel.
Single dormer opening. Slate roofs. Canopied shelter linked
to west wall of 2-bay rear wing and supported on posts;
modern brick shed against south gable.
Interior: overshot mill wheel with timber arms and
cast-iron axle and outer frame enclosed in north-eastern
compartment within building, and survives in reasonable
condition; most gearing and machinery survives also.
Brick kilns in rear wing, vents removed.
