Description
Castlekirk in Lochranza is a former church built around 1900, now converted into a dwelling house. It has a rectangular plan with an entrance gable and features an Arts and Crafts style. The building is constructed from coursed sandstone rubble with red ashlar dressings and has a slate roof. It includes pointed and round windows with chamfered margins, as well as leaded and multi-pane glazing. The ashlar-coped skews have missing finials.
On the front elevation, the gable is advanced to the right and features a quatrefoil window with a stack at the left skew. To the right, there is a boarded door with a pointed-arch doorcase, and to the left, there are three bays: a door formed from a pointed window in the center, a pointed window to the right, and a 6-pane window to the left. Above, there is a tripartite multi-pane dormerhead with a catslide roof, along with a modern rooflight.
The left return elevation has two multi-pane windows on the ground floor and a large round window above that consists of four quatrefoils. The right return elevation features a tall pointed window with multi-pane glazing. The interior has not been seen.
