Description

This is a group of twelve cottages, known as the Twelve Apostles, located at 1 The Row, Catacol, Arran. The cottages date to the 18th century and are a characteristic feature of the small coastal settlement. They are built as single-storey and attic gables, with walls finished in lime wash and harled. The roofs are slate. The windows have stone frames, painted in a variety of colours. The doorways are each distinguished by a simple, pedimented stone hood. The statutory address includes the cottages numbered 1 to 12, along with the front garden walls.
