Walled Garden, Ryefield House, Dalry

The Walled Garden at Ryefield House in Dalry dates from the earlier 19th century and features a 2-storey, 5-bay, asymmetrical design. The building is constructed from painted ashlar with architraves. It has an off-centre recessed door that includes a simple traceried fanlight, and a projecting porch supported by Roman Doric columns and pilasters. To the left, there is an advanced wide bay that extends to both the ground and first floors. To the right of the door, there are three windows, while the first floor has four windows. The ground floor windows are 20-pane with apron panels and consoled cornices, while the first floor windows are 16-pane with corbelled and lugged architraves. There is a low bowed extension from the 1920s to the left that is rendered. The walled garden features a central loggia in the north-west wall, with the date 1924 displayed above the gate.
