Description

The Old Parish Church and Burial Ground in Boharm features a roughly square burial ground enclosed by rubble walls, which contains the remains of a former parish church dating back to 1618. The site includes tombstones from the 17th, 18th, 19th centuries, and later.

The ruins consist of the western gable of the former church, which likely had a T-plan form and includes a bellcote with a ball finial, although the bell is missing. The eastern wall has been significantly remodeled, possibly by William Robertson of Elgin, in the early 19th century to serve as a burial enclosure for the families of Arndilly and Auchlunkart, who are honored with various mural plaques.
