Description
West Lodge at Auchlunkart House is a gate lodge built in 1886, likely designed by architects Bruce and Sutherland from Banff. The lodge faces the road and is two stories high with three bays. It features white harled walls and mock timber framing on the first floor, along with white painted ashlar margins. The central entrance has a round-headed doorway flanked by windows that share similar detailing. On the first floor, two windows break the eaves in the outer bays, set within jerkin-headed gablets, and the glazing varies. At the rear, there is a projecting bowed stair turret topped with a bowed piended roof. The lodge has a central ashlar chimney stack and a piended slate roof with projecting eaves, decorative tile brattishing, and apex finials.
