School, Tombae

The site comprises a late 19th-century schoolhouse and a school building dated 1903, located in Tombae. The schoolhouse is a single-storey and attic west-facing building with three bays. It is constructed of rubble with tooled ashlar dressings. A central door is present, along with two canted dormers. The windows have 2-pane and 4-pane glazing, and there are coped end stacks and a slate roof. A plaque inscribed with the letters "WS" is set into the south gable, decorated with a carved leaf.

The school building is rectangular and built against the north gable of the schoolhouse, creating an L-shaped plan. It is a single-storey structure with a long, four-bay north elevation. Construction is of rubble with tooled ashlar dressings. An off-centre, corniced entrance is located in the east gable. The west gable features a large tripartite window. A slightly projecting gabled wallhead stack is situated in the centre of the north elevation, flanked by two windows. A cross is set into the gable of the chimney stack. Decorative cast-iron apex finials are present, along with a slate roof featuring decorative pottery ridges and ridge ventilators.
