Description
This is an 1825 former Manse of the Church of Scotland, situated at Auchbreck, along with a contemporary steading. The main house is a two-story, three-bay building facing east, with a two-story, two-bay wing extending to the rear, creating an L-shaped layout. The exterior is harled (roughcast) with edges defined by tooled pink granite. The central entrance has a panelled door surmounted by a narrow fanlight featuring decorative glazing. A later canted bay window has been added to the right side of the house and features 12-pane glazing. The roof is covered in slate and is punctuated by coped end stacks.
The steading, also dating from around 1825, consists of a single-story, L-shaped range built of harled rubble. It originally housed a gighouse, stable, and byre, and is similarly roofed with slate.
Auchbreck Church was constructed in 1825 on the site of a previously existing 'Protestant meeting house.'
