Description
This is a burial ground dating to the mid-18th century. It is square in shape and constructed of rubble stone walls. Several tombstones are still visible, with slate examples dating from the 1790s, alongside others from the 19th and 20th centuries. The burial ground occupies a prominent, commanding hillside location overlooking the Braes of Glenlivet. Historical records indicate the ground was consecrated more than 40 years before 1794 by two Roman Catholic bishops, to serve as a burial ground for Catholics.
