Description
The building is a school, dated 1860. It is a single-story, rectangular structure with long north and south facing elevations. The exterior is of harled rubble with dressed granite. A projecting gabled wing is situated in the center of the north front. Slightly projecting gabled bays are located in the second and fifth positions on the north front, featuring an apex stack on the left and blocked windows with lying-pane glazing. The south elevation has 12-pane glazing in its four-window arrangement. The building has crowstepped gables, an apex cross, and a Tomintoul slate roof. It is currently disused and is located within the Cairngorms National Park, near Braes of Glenlivet, in Chapeltown.
