Description
The Fife Arms Hotel, located at 28-30 Regent Street in Keith, was built around 1820-1830. This two-storey building features a corner range with four bays, which are made up of two separate constructions facing Regent Street, and a three-bay return elevation towards Regent Square. The hotel includes a service and stable range that is accessed through an arched pend. The exterior is constructed of rubble with tooled rubble dressings, and some areas feature contrasting sandstone.
The main entrance on Regent Street is located in the three-bay block, which has a wider bay to the west. The similar three-bay block facing Regent Square has a central door and enlarged ground floor windows with two-pane glazing. The pend leading to the stable range has a shallow segmental arch and the building is topped with ridge and end stacks, all covered by slate roofs that are piended at an angle.
