14, 15 Clifton Road, Lossiemouth

14 and 15 Clifton Road in Lossiemouth is a significant mid to late 18th century terrace building, with later 20th century additions to the outer bays. This prominent two-storey, 11-bay structure, arranged in a 2-7-2 grouping, is rectangular in plan and faces the Lossiemouth Old Harbour, enhancing the picturesque shoreline. The building features tooled rubble with ashlar dressing and margins, a keystoned, segmental-arched pend that has been infilled with a shop window, and a shaped timpany gable at the center.

The symmetrical principal elevation faces southeast, showcasing a central shop window at ground level with a door to the right that has been converted from a window. Each of the flanking three-bay houses has a central door that has also been converted to a window. There are narrow two-bay additions at each end of the range that are continuous with the main frontage.

The windows include 4-pane, 12-pane, and plate glass patterns, all in timber sash and case style. The roof is covered with grey slates and features small cast iron rooflights. The building has later 18th century coped panelled end stacks, a renewed 19th century cope on the ashlar gablehead stack, and clay cans.
