Description
North Lodge, also known as Ballindalloch Castle Gardener’s Cottage, is a single-storey cottage dated 1864. It has a cruciform plan, with a rear wing likely added later. The front is asymmetrical, with three bays. The walls are harled, featuring tooled ashlar margins and a base course. A gabled porch is located in the south-east re-entrant angle, and a canted bay window sits in the centre of the south gable, bearing a monogram above. Bipartite windows are present in the east and west gables, incorporating quatrefoil detailing within the gablets. The windows are fitted with two- and four-pane glazing. A central ridge features a battery of three coped stacks. The roof is slate, with projecting eaves and bargeboards.
