Description
The building consists of a walled garden dating to around 1830 and a small bothy built against its north wall. The garden is constructed of large, regular rubble with a random rubble exterior on the north side, and has a low wall to the west. The top of the walls are finished with a neatly tooled granite coping. Entrances are located in the north and south walls, featuring checked jambs and some original iron hinges remain. Later ornamental iron gates have been added. The bothy is a simple, single-story building with a double-gabled design, built from rubble. It has coped end stacks and a roof of Banffshire slate. A previous walled garden was lost due to floods in 1829. The Gardens Cottage is not included in this listing. References to the garden are found in J and W Watson's Morayshire Described (1868), page 50.
