Description

Thornhill is a late 18th and early 19th century house of two storeys, originally with three bays and a central doorway. A two-storey, two-bay wing extends to the rear, creating an L-shaped plan. The house is harled and has painted margins, with some sections of painted long and short work. A small, lean-to porch is situated in the re-entrant angle. The end gables feature corniced stacks, with the eastern gable stack retaining its original moulded cornice. The main house has a roof of Banffshire slate, while other areas are covered with Welsh slate. The statutory address is Clackmarras, Thornhill.
