Description

The War Memorial in Fochabers, designed by A Marshall Mackenzie in 1922, features a simple fluted Roman Doric column with a moulded capital and a stylised flame finial. It stands on a square plinth that is supported by a circular shallow stepped base. The memorial is constructed of polished and tooled ashlar. Bronze plaques are affixed to the plinth, inscribed with the names of those who fell in the wars of 1914-1919 and 1939-1945.
