Description
Clifton House, located at 68 South Guildry Street in Elgin, was built in 1861. It is a 2-storey and attic house with an asymmetrical 3-bay design. The exterior features tooled rubble with tooled and polished ashlar dressings.
The central entrance is concealed by a square single-storey porch that includes a side entrance, a front window, and angle anthemion acroteria. On either side of the porch, there are corniced windows with panelled lintels. The house has two canted wallhead dormers and a single window each on the ground and first floors of the street gable, all with 4-pane glazing. The roof is slate and has coped end stacks.
In front of the house, there is a coped garden wall.
