Walled Garden, Harvieston House

The Walled Garden at Harvieston House dates from the early 19th century and features a near quadrangular plan. Its walls are constructed of random rubble, with the inside of the north wall lined in brick and topped with polished ashlar coping. The walls step down to the south and include a swept down slip buttress at the northwest angle. There is a small ironwork gate located at the center of the south wall. The west wall has a squat segmental arched opening that leads to Harvieston Farm, which is listed separately. This opening contains a boarded timber door with long and short droved dressings and a relieving arch to the north. There is another opening to the west of the north wall. Inside the garden, there is a later 20th-century single-storey house at the center of the west wall, along with a later 20th-century harled lean-to to the right. Additionally, there is a rubble lean-to building on the exterior that is currently undergoing alterations, featuring a timber door with long and short droved dressings on the outer right.
