115 High Street, Dalkeith

115 High Street in Dalkeith is an 18th-century building that has undergone later alterations and was restored in 1982. It is a two-storey row of houses oriented east-west, divided into three sections. The structure is built of rubble with ashlar surrounds and quoins on the east elevation, while the remaining elevations feature flush margins with squared tails, some of which have concrete replacements. The windows are of irregular sizes.

On the east elevation facing High Street, there is a gabled two-bay design. A door is positioned between 19th-century shop windows at the ground level, with windows on the left and right at the first floor.

The west elevation has a door and a window at the first floor to the left, with a rubble wall extending westward attached to the left side.

The south elevation features four doors and irregularly placed windows. There are two pal stones on either side of the entrance to No 6.

On the north elevation, the windows are also irregularly disposed in the center. Attached to the right is a mid-19th-century cottage, No 119 High Street, which has a window at the ground level on the outer right side beyond the cottage.

Most of the windows are sash and case, with several being fixed-pane with top hoppers. The glazing pattern is predominantly 12-pane, with plate glass on the east elevation. The roof is steeply pitched, covered with pantiles and a slate easing course, and features coped skews. There are gablehead stacks on the east and west sides, along with two brick ridge stacks.
