75 High Street, Dalkeith

75 High Street in Dalkeith is an earlier 19th-century, three-storey, two-bay classical tenement building featuring a shop at ground level. The building is constructed of droved ashlar, with the south elevation made of squared and coursed rubble, while the west elevation is harled. It has raised margins and quoins, along with a string course above the second floor.

On the east elevation facing High Street, there is an earlier 20th-century shop front at ground level, which includes a door on the right and a window on the left. The first and second floors have regularly spaced windows. At the top, there is a moulded pediment that breaks the blocking course, featuring a lunette window and a corniced die at the apex.

The south elevation, which faces Elliot's Close, has a display window and fascia that extend around the corner from the east elevation, with irregularly sized and positioned windows. The west elevation has windows on the first and second floors to the right, and it is adjoined at ground level by a single-storey rubble range (No 73).

The building features sash and case windows with plate glass glazing on the east elevation, while the south and west elevations have small-pane glazing. It has a slate roof with gablehead stacks; the northern stack is mutual with adjacent buildings, while the western stack is truncated.
