227 High Street, Burntisland

227 High Street in Burntisland is a mid to later 19th century, three-storey, two-bay classical tenement building that features a shop on the ground floor, which has a modern shop front. The building has pedimented windows, with semicircular windows on the first floor that break the eaves at the second floor into a parapet. It is constructed of dressed ashlar and includes base and cill courses, a cornice above the shop, at the eaves, and to the parapet. The windows are architraved, and there are panelled quoin strips and bracketed cills at the second floor.

On the south elevation facing High Street, there is a modern display window in the center with a shop door to the outer right and a fascia board above. To the outer left, there is a recessed tenement door, with regular two-bay fenestration above. The ground floor features fixed plate glass glazing, while the first and second floors have sash and case windows with a four-pane glazing pattern, consisting of small upper panes and large lower panes. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are ashlar coped skews and broad stacks with some cans.
