Description

Dated 1703; apparently raised to 3-storey, probably later in 18th century. 3-storey, 3-bay former mill. Rubble, heavily repointed Largely replacement concrete lintels and cills. Intermittent boulder rubble base course. Some window enlargements.

N (NEWMILLS ROAD) ELEVATION: doorway at centre, with concrete surround and modern door. Regularly disposed fenestration, taller windows at 1st floor. Rybat of window at 1st floor in bay to right inscribed with mason's mark.

S ELEVATION: 3-bay (1-2). Doorway out-of-line to left in centre bay, modern door. Regularly disposed fenestration, windows widened at ground, taller windows at 1st floor. Original lintel of window at 1st floor in centre bay inscribed "1703".

W ELEVATION: window to left at ground. Window to right at 1st floor.

E ELEVATION: window to left at ground and 2nd floors.

Variety of glazing patterns in replacement windows, some small-pane, some lying-pane. Flattened gableheads. Coped skews. Red pantiles.

2 modern outbuildings to SE. Rubble wall to E.
