Gordon Bank, 12 Broomieknowe, Lasswade

Gordon Bank, located at 12 Broomieknowe in Lasswade, is an earlier 19th century, two-storey, four-bay rectangular-plan plain classical house. The principal elevation features stugged ashlar sandstone, while the side elevations are made of coursed, snecked sandstone with droved dressings around the openings. The building has droved quoins and raised cills for the single windows.

On the northwest (principal) elevation, there is a modern replacement door in the central bay, with a single window above it on the first floor. The left bay contains later windows, and there are windows at both the ground and first floors in the outer left and right bays.

The southeast (rear) elevation is symmetrical with three bays. It has a deep-set timber panelled door with a rectangular fanlight above, and a window on the first floor above the door. Each flanking bay has a window on both floors.

The southwest side elevation features a single window at ground level in the central bay, with a wallhead stack above it, and a window at the first floor in the bay to the right.

The house has 12-pane timber sash and case windows, a piended grey slate roof, cast-iron rainwater goods, and coped rendered wallhead stacks on the southwest and northeast sides.

The boundary walls and gates are made of sandstone rubble with a rounded ashlar cope on the lower section and a shaped rubble cope on the upper section. There are arrow-headed wrought iron railings and a pedestrian gate, along with steel gates providing vehicular access.
