West Machan House, 10 St Margaret's Place, Larkhall

West Machan House, located at 10 St Margaret's Place in Larkhall, is an earlier 19th century house that has undergone later alterations. It is a two-storey, three-bay, symmetrical rectangular-plan building designed in a plain classical style, featuring gabled ends. The exterior is made of droved painted sandstone with polished painted dressings, and includes a base course and an eaves course. The windows have raised cills.

On the north (principal) elevation, there is a deep-set timber flush-panelled door with a rectangular fanlight above it, along with a window on the first floor directly above the door. Each of the flanking bays also has a window on both floors.

The east (side) elevation features a garage awning to the left at ground level, with a window on the first floor above it and a gablehead stack above that.

The west (side) elevation has a blank gabled wall with a piended single-storey addition in the centre at ground level, and a gablehead stack above.

The house has 12-pane timber sash and case windows, a grey slate roof, and the addition also has a slate roof. The building features painted ashlar coped stacks, ashlar skews, and cast-iron rainwater goods.

The interior was not seen in 1997.
