Description
The Walled Garden at Newbattle Abbey Policies dates from the mid-19th century and features a tall U-shaped wall. The front and right sides are constructed from sandstone rubble, while the left side is made of brick. The front wall has ashlar coping and includes three curvilinear gableheads, which are truncated at the far right and left, along with several doorways. The inner side of the wall has a brick lining and modern steel beams supporting the rear of the gableheads. Inside the walls, there are large circular and rectangular planters made of ashlar.
