122 High Street, Dalkeith

122 High Street in Dalkeith is a late 18th-century tenement building that stands three stories high and has four bays arranged in a 1-2-1 pattern, with a shop located on the ground floor. The west elevation features stippled render, while the east elevation is harled, both with painted dressings. The building has flush margins and deep-set windows, along with a band course above the shop fascia at cill level and an eaves course directly above the lintel level.

On the west elevation facing High Street, there are modern shopfronts on the ground floor, which include two large windows in the center and entrances in the outer bays. The first and second floors have regularly spaced fenestration, with taller windows on the first floor.

The east elevation has modern additions and replacement glazing. The north elevation is attached to Nos 128-134 High Street, and the south elevation is adjoined to Nos 116-120 High Street.

The building features plate glass glazing in sash and case windows and is topped with a steeply pitched roof covered in grey slates. The west elevation has scroll skewputts with cable moulding detail, and there is a coped skew to the left. A tall brick gablehead is present on the north side.
