Description
Pier House, located at Balintraid Pier, dates to approximately 1817, with alterations made in the late 19th century. It is a single-storey and attic house with a symmetrical west-facing facade of three bays. The walls are harled, with ashlar margins and dressings. A central door is flanked by windows with 12-pane glazing. The roof is slate, punctuated by three gabled dormers and a single occulus with long and short detailing. Coped end stacks rise from the roof. Historic records suggest the house was originally a single-storey building and was raised to its present height during the late 19th century alterations.
