Description
The Free Church Manse on Novar Road in Alness was built in 1843. It is a south-facing, two-storey house with three bays and a rear wing. The front is made of coursed, tooled rubble, while the flanks are harl pointed rubble, featuring contrasting painted tooled ashlar margins. The entrance is a centrally located corniced door, and there are single windows on both the ground and first floors of the east gable, each with 12-pane glazing. The roof is piended and covered with slate, with paired coped stacks on both the front and back ridges. The rear wing has been raised to a full two storeys and is clad in slate, with modern windows.
