Church School, Church Street, Golspie

The building comprises a church school dated 1844, situated on Church Street, Golspie, along with a former school building. It has group value in relation to its ecclesiastical use.

The church school is a simple T-plan building with a symmetrical south elevation featuring six bays. It is constructed of red rubble stone with tooled rubble dressings. Entrances are located in the outer bays, with four windows in total, the centre pair being longer. Matching long windows are present in each gable, and much of the original lattice pane glazing remains. The building has modern doors, shaped finials, and a slate roof. The interior has been re-cast.

Adjacent to the church school is a single-storey, four-bay school building also constructed of rubble. It features an entrance in the outer (east) bay and three windows with lattice glazing. An apex stack and slate roof are present. A coped drystone wall surrounds the school.

A single-storey, three-bay dwelling, likely the school-master's house, adjoins the school, but has been considerably altered and is not listed. References to the building appear in Ewing, Annals of the Free Church ii (1914) p220.
