Golspie Station

Golspie Station, dated 1868, was built as part of the Sutherland extension of the Highland Railway. This two-storey building has an L-shaped layout, incorporating a ticket office and waiting room on the ground floor, and a dwelling above. The exterior is constructed from bullfaced rubble stone with dressed ashlar details. It features gabled wings on both the east and west elevations. Windows include tripartite designs on the ground and first floors to the east and a mullioned window on the ground floor to the west. The roof extends as a canopy over the western re-entrant angle, partially sheltering the platform area with braced wooden columns and also sweeping over an outshot to the north. There is a single bargeboarded and gabled dormer window on both the west and north sides. The roof also has corniced end and lateral stacks and is covered in slate.
