Description
No. 6, Corran, is an early to mid-19th century row of four single-storey cottages, originally comprising three bays with a central door for each. This group represents an unusually complete surviving example of a West Highland crofting and fishing community. The cottages are constructed of white-washed rubble with substantial footings, featuring ridge stacks and slate roofs, with piended gables on the end cottages. Most windows are of the 2-pane variety. A right-hand window at No. 8 has been enlarged, and No. 6 has modern glazing. The row appears on the 1872 Ordnance Survey map. The statutory address includes numbers 5, 6, 7, and 8 Corran.
