Description

No. 5 Corran is an early to mid-19th century row of four single-storey cottages forming an unusual and largely complete example of a West Highland crofting and fishing community. The cottages are set within an important group. They have three bays, with a central door to each. They are built of white-washed rubble stone with substantial footings, have ridge stacks, and slate roofs that are piended at each end cottage. Most windows contain two panes of glass. A window has been enlarged at No. 8, and No. 6 has modern glazing. The row appears on the 1872 Ordnance Survey map. The statutory address is 5, 6, 7, and 8 Corran.
