No. 8, Corran

No. 8, Corran, is an early to mid-19th century row of four single-story cottages, originally with three bays and a central door for each. The cottages are constructed of white-washed rubble with substantial footings, feature ridge stacks, and have slate roofs, with piended ends on the two end cottages. Most windows have two panes of glazing. A right-hand window at No. 8 has been enlarged, and modern glazing is present at No. 6. The buildings appear on the 1872 Ordnance Survey map. The group of cottages, including Nos. 5, 6, 7, and 8, represents an unusually complete surviving example of a West Highland crofting and fishing community and is of group value.
