Aa Sentry Box (No 746), Loch Allan, Dava

The Sentry Box (No 746) at Loch Allan in Dava was built between 1956 and 1967, with later refurbishments. It has a square plan and is constructed from timber boarding, measuring approximately 2 metres by 0.75 metres by 0.75 metres. The roof is cross-gabled and clad in zinc, featuring a central ventilator, and it sits on a concrete base. The timber boarding is covered with black painted flush plywood, and there are rectangular panels on the sides inscribed with "BOX 746". A weathering fillet is positioned above the door, and yellow painted strips are located at each corner. The gablets are bargeboarded and display winged interlaced "AA" livery from the 1990s rebranding, flanked by backlit square name panels reading "LOCH ALLEN" on the left and "BOX" on the right on each face. Inside, the flooring is made of chipboard, there is a plastic-lined cupboard at the rear, and a 3-button telephone (disconnected since 2002) is located to the right.
