Description
The Ice House and Harbour Cottage in Portmahomack date back to the early 19th century. The ice house is a single-chambered structure with a vaulted ceiling, facing west, and is built from rubble with a turfed roof. It features a central door that is concealed by a single-storey, two-bay rubble store, which has an entrance on the south side and a window on either side.
Adjoining the west gable of the store is a lower, single-storey cottage, also from the early 19th century, which has three bays. The cottage has a central door flanked by windows on its south front. Both the store and the cottage have coped apex stacks and roofs made of corrugated iron.
