Description

The fountain on Main Street in Portmahomack was made by MacFarlane Foundry and is dated 1887. It is a painted cast-iron structure featuring a cherub on a plinth in the center of a basin, holding a fish from which water pours. This is supported by a fluted pedestal. The fountain is topped with a domed canopy that is held up by four fluted decorative columns, and it has a lamp bracket at the apex. The entire fountain stands on a square base.
