Description
The Game Larder at Gobernuisgach Lodge is a small shooting lodge built between 1845 and 1846. It is a two-storey, three-bay structure with projecting outer bays that create a U-shaped plan, facing southeast and forming a re-entrant court. The building is constructed from grey rubble with tooled rubble dressings. The main entrance, located in the center of the southwest elevation, is currently blocked. There are two doors present under a small lean-to porch against the southeast center bay. Some first-floor windows extend through the wallhead into finialled gablets, while the taller ground-floor windows feature lying-pane glazing with a heavy center mullion. All windows and doorways have drip moulds, and the building includes shaped skewputts, stone ball apex finials, symmetrical ridge stacks with heavy copes, and a slate roof.
The game larder is a small square structure made of rubble, matching the house, with a central door in the northeast elevation. It has a pyramidal slate roof topped with a louvred cupola and features 8-pane gabled dormers on each roof facet.
Additionally, there is a simple single-storey L-plan rubble steading that includes stables, a byre, and a gig-house, all covered by a slate roof.
