Description

A pair of two-storey cottages dating from 1863, designed by A & W Reid of Elgin and Inverness. The cottages are arranged in an L-plan, with paired gables facing southeast towards a lane, and entrances located in the re-entrant angles where the wings meet. The exterior walls are constructed of harl-pointed rubble with dressings of tooled rubble. The advanced gables feature wide, three-light ground floor windows, with two-light windows above and in the return gables. Casement windows have horizontal glazing. A central ridge stack rises from the roof, which is covered in slate with projecting eaves. A modern, harled lean-to has been added to the rear. The statutory address is 10 and 11 Tomich. Records relating to the building can be found in the Moray District Record Office, Forres, under reference DAWP 1232.
