Description

These are a pair of later 19th-century, open-work cast-iron gates located at the entrance to Guisachan Farm. The gates are flanked by square cast-iron gate piers, each topped with a circular, glazed lamp bowl enclosed within a swagged frame. Matching decorated cast-iron carriage gates are present along with flanking pedestrian gates incorporating the letter "M" in their design. The gates mark the entrance to the farm drive, which continues to the now ruinous Guisachan House. The property was once owned by Sir Dudley Coutts Marjoribanks and Lady Marjoribanks, later 1st Lord and Lady Tweedmouth.
