Description
These are a pair of single-storey and attic cottages, likely built around 1863 by A & W Reid of Elgin and Inverness. Each cottage has two bays, with entrances positioned in the inner bays. The cottages are constructed from pointed rubble with a rough harl finish, and the side elevations are also harl-rendered. Each cottage features a gabled dormer window with bargeboards in the outer bay. They have four-pane glazing, coped end stacks, decorative bargeboards to the gables, and slate roofs. A single-storey lean-to extends from the rear of each cottage. Undated drawings relating to the cottages are included in the Guisachan Estate plans. The statutory address is 12 and 13 Tomich. Further details are held at Moray District Record Office, Forres, reference DAWP 1232.
