Description

A pair of two-storey cottages, built in 1863 by A & W Reid of Elgin and Inverness. They are situated at 6 and 7 Tomich and have an L-shaped plan with paired gables facing southeast. The cottages are constructed of harl-rendered rubble, with dressed rubble used for detailing. The advanced gables feature wide three-light windows on the ground floor, and similar two-light windows above and in the return gables. The windows are horizontal casements and sashes with thick, moulded wooden mullions. Central ridge stacks rise from the slate roof, which has projecting eaves. A single-storey, harled lean-to extension is located at the rear. Further details are referenced in the Moray District Record Office, Forres, under DAWP 1232.
