Description
These are a pair of single-storey and attic cottages, dated circa 1863 and designed by A & W Reid of Elgin and Inverness. They are situated at Tomich, with a statutory address of 5 Tomich. Each cottage has two bays, with entrances in the outer bays. The construction is of harl-pointed rubble, with tooled dressings and harled flanks. They feature original gabled timber porches with lattice work and decorative bargeboards. Each dwelling has a single wallhead gabled dormer and a wallhead gabled centre, both with decorative bargeboards. There are centre ground and first-floor windows in the return gables, with varied glazing patterns. A coped ridge stack is present, along with a slate roof with projecting eaves. Undated drawings relating to the cottages are held within the Guisachan Estate plans at the Moray District Record Office, Forres.
