Description

A pair of two-storey cottages, dated 1863 and built by A & W Reid of Elgin and Inverness, stand at Tomich. They are arranged in an L-plan shape for each cottage, with paired gables facing the road to the southeast. The exterior is built of harl-rendered rubble with dressed stone details. Each cottage features wide, three-light windows on the ground floor within the projecting gables, and similar two-light windows above and in the return gables. The windows are a mix of horizontal glazed casements and sash windows, all featuring thick, moulded wooden mullions. Central ridge stacks rise from the roof, which is covered in slate with projecting eaves. A single-storey, harled lean-to extension is located at the rear. Further information is held at Moray District Record Office, Forres, in the DAWP 1232 file.
