Public Convenience And Shelter, Kelvingrove Park, La Belle Place, Glasgow

The public convenience and shelter in Kelvingrove Park, La Belle Place, Glasgow, was built in 1913 by the City Engineer's Office of Public Works for Glasgow Council. This single-storey structure has a rectangular plan and is constructed of red brick, featuring a distinctive gambrel roof. It includes a red ashlar cill band course and segmental-headed openings.

On the west (principal) elevation, the building has a mirrored four-bay design with two large round-arched doorways at the center. The right doorway leads to the boys' convenience and the left to the girls', with paired slender windows flanking each outer bay.

The east (rear) elevation is irregular, featuring two doorways of different widths at the center: the left leads to a tools store and the right to the men's convenience. To the right of this doorway are two larger windows and one narrow window, while the outer left has a single larger window.

The north and south elevations each have paired windows at the center, with the northern windows being narrower. The grey slate gambrel roof has a deep gable at the apex and a deep piended bellcast apron below. Louvred ventilators are present in the gableheads and in a swept dormer at the rear. The roof is finished with red clay ridge tiles. Decorative water hoppers are located on both the principal elevation and the rear, with the front one dated '1913'.
