Description
This building is a public convenience, constructed in the early 20th century. It has a roughly triangular shape with entrances on either side, both labeled "GENTLEMEN". The structure is made of red brick, featuring terracotta detailing and rendered panels. It has a pitched, slated roof with a raised ventilator at the ridge.
The front elevation includes a squat, louvered Venetian window that is topped with a moulded terracotta hood and sill. There are baluster pilasters on either side of the central opening. The gable is pedimented and has a moulded terracotta cornice, with a porthole opening set within a moulded terracotta surround. The flanking brick pilasters have moulded terracotta caps. The two rear elevations are blind.
Inside, the building features white glazed tiling throughout, along with a surviving original curved white ceramic urinal and fittings.
