Description

This building, located at 159-161 Ingram Street in Glasgow, dates from around 1860 and is a four-storey Italianate warehouse. The exterior features painted ashlar stonework and modern shop fronts at the ground level. Above the ground floor, there is a dentil cornice, and a consoled cornice above the first floor, with the main cornice featuring raised panels between the consoles. The second floor has lintel courses, while the third floor has a cill course for its windows. The corners of the building are accentuated with rusticated pilaster strip quoins.

The facade has six bays facing Ingram Street and five bays facing Hutcheson Street. Between the first floor windows, there are moulded panels, and broad pilasters separate the second floor, which features conch windowheads. The windows on the third floor are architraved and have bracketed cills. The building is topped with pedimented and pilastered dormers set within a slated mansard roof. The windows throughout are plate-glass sash and case.
