Description

The Telephone Exchange at 141-147 Merrylee Road in Glasgow was built in 1928 and remains unaltered. It features a plain design with rock-faced ashlar and has windows with mullions and transoms, fitted with metal astragalled small panes. The building has an asymmetrical two-storey, three-bay front, with a gable on the left that is connected to a wallhead stack. A parapet conceals the gabled and slated roof, and there is a Tudor-arched doorway located to the left of the center. Additionally, there is a low boundary wall with iron railings, which is also rock-faced, supported by polished ashlar piers.
