Glasgow, Balornock Road, Stobhill Hospital, Administration Building

Stobhill Hospital's Administration Building, designed by Thomson and Sandilands between 1900 and 1904, is a symmetrical, two-storey, eleven-bay Beaux Arts structure. It features a central columned porch with an advanced broken-pedimented bay and advanced end bays with canted bay windows. The building is constructed of red brick with some ashlar margins, and it includes a round-arched, key-stoned entrance along with a carved decorative panel in the pediment. The roof is covered with grey slates and red ridge tiles. The windows are mainly six-pane over plate glass in timber sash and case.

The interior, partially observed in 2013, includes an open-well stair with metal balusters and a timber balustrade, along with newel posts. Decorative cornicing can be found in the corridors and rooms, and there are several decorative timber fire surrounds.
